UK CONNECT SUPPORT REDROW’S CHARITY EVENT

UK Connect support Redrow by donating to their Question of Sport Quiz and Charity Dinner

On the 27th of April Redrow Homes South Midlands hosted the Question of Sport Quiz and Charity Dinner. Congratulations to Redrow for managing to raise an incredible £14,183.00, all of which will be donated to the Henry Allen Trust.

The Henry Allen Trust was set-up by Henry Allen’s family, after he was diagnosed with Stage 4 High Risk Neuroblastoma and tragically treatment failed to stop his condition deteriorating. Henry’s last days were spent with his family, making memories and talking about his wishes. This included helping other children and families affected by childhood cancer.

The Henry Allen Trust is about “Henry’s family bringing happiness to your family”. This is achieved in a number of ways including:

  • Providing Treats and Wishes to Create Special Memories for families affected by Childhood Cancer
  • Providing Support and Advice for Families Battling Childhood Cancer
  • Improving Processes for Oncology Services Within Hospitals

MD of UK Connect, PJ Farr, said, “Donating to Redrow’s cause is one close to our hearts, not only because of our relationship with Redrow but also because we actively donate to the Emily Ash trust, a trust also dedicated to helping families who have a child dealing with cancer. A close contact of ours at Redrow has tragically had a family member suffer from childhood cancer, and we truly believe that donating to the trust will make a difference, whether by funding the development of new treatments or creating the opportunity for special memories to be made for those whose lives are affected by cancer. Our thoughts are with all those who are affected at these difficult times.”

Bill Cairns, Construction Director at Redrow Homes South Midlands, said, “We have strong links with the trust through our marketing co-ordinator, Mandy Howie. Her daughter Chase formed an incredible bond with Henry Allen while both were receiving treatment for cancer in 2013. Many of us were lucky enough to meet Chase, and felt inspired by her love of life and her ability to light up a room. From all of us at Redrow Homes South Midlands, thank you for your support and generosity – it truly will make a difference.”
