UK housing giant Barratt Homes are opening a brand new division in the East region. Having just celebrated their 60th anniversary (2018), the new Cambridge division marks the company’s continuing growth and success. Barratt are now the biggest house-builder by volume in the United Kingdom, having sold over 17,000 homes in the year to June 2017. Over the past 6 years Barratt has increased its housing output by more than 55% in line with growing demands.

According to a recent Ofcom study, over 1 million homes have been left without the fast broadband services expected of UK household providers.

In an Ofcom study during Q4 of 2016, the telcoms regulator identified 1.4m UK households are still without reliable internet connectivity! In modern life, fast broadband is no-longer a nicety, it’s essential for our digital lives to develop, such as video-calling friends etc.

Explanation of 5G and what it means for a future facing economy

It’s the biggest advancement facing our mobile and wireless connectivity systems today. The ‘G’ stands for ‘generation’, and as 1G was the first generation of wireless phone technology in the early 1990s, 5G is the next generation of connectivity facing today’s world. It aims to offer a step-up in capacity and responsiveness to the needs of its users. As well as this, it aims to be the most efficient system as of yet, both in terms of cost and energy usage.
