Cala Homes News – support for The Prince’s Trust

This week we are proud to share news from one of our clients, Cala Homes, whose employees have raised over £10,000 for the Prince’s Trust by taking on the ambitious and arduous Three Peaks Challenge.

The challenge

The team of eleven Cala employees finished the Three Peaks Challenge, climbing all three of the UK’s highest mountains in under 24 hours.

Day one of the challenge started with the climb up Ben Nevis, followed by a late evening assent of Scafell Pike in Cumbria and then the final journey up Snowdon.

The Three Peaks Challenge is a test of endurance, and includes 26 miles of hill-walking as each mountain is between seven and ten miles of trails.

The team

Helen Colman, Sales and Marketing Director at CALA Homes (Chiltern) was one of the team who took on the challenge.  She said: “For most of us, this was the first time we had attempted anything like this.  It was definitely hard going and we had to really push ourselves, but knowing that we were doing it for such a worthwhile charity and the sense of achievement when we made it to the top of each mountain made it all worthwhile.

“This is the second year of our partnership with The Prince’s Trust and we are immensely proud to be supporting the great work they do to support disadvantaged, young people and help get them into employment.”

The cause

Established in 1976, The Prince’s Trust is a youth charity that helps disadvantaged young people gain the skills and confidence to move into employment, education or training. The Three Peaks Challenge is just one of the ways CALA Homes is raising funds for The Prince’s Trust as part of its ongoing partnership with the charity.
